My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

This Sunday the 27th of September, the Knights of Columbus at St John Vianney will be hosting our Annual Tailgate Party beginning after the 10:30am Mass at the SJV Social Hall. Please join us for some great food as we watch the Kansas City Chiefs play.

The Legion of Mary will be hosting our 27th Annual Candlelight Rosary Procession at Mary Our Queen beginning at 7pm at the Church. The evening includes the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament along with a candlelight Rosary Procession around Mary Our Queen’s grounds. There will also be a dessert reception sponsored by the Catholic Daughters after the Benediction. Please join us if you are able to.

Mary Our Queen School hosted Grandparents Day on September 17th and 18th. It was a blessed time to see the grandparents of our school children. The event concluded each day with a Mass and a reception for our grandparents. Some grandparents traveled a great distance to see their grandchildren in the school and we are grateful they were able to make that visit. Thank you to all our teachers and staff for making it possible.

We introduced a new Parish Prayer for Our Family of Parishes before each Mass last weekend. Our Family of Parishes are called to be a school of prayer that fosters a growing intimacy with God. We hope this will be a starting point for a parish-wide theme for catechesis. There is a program guide that is available in the narthex that presents all the offerings in our Family of Parishes. This includes all our clubs and organizations in our Family of Parishes that you can get involved in as well as the events hosted by our Family of Parishes.

We also reformatted our bulletin last weekend so that it reflects all that is going on as a Family of Parishes and the faith opportunities that we are offering.

We began a new OCIA session (previously called RCIA) at the end of August. If you or a loved one or perhaps a friend is interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith, kindly call Ann at 402 578 9846 or email ocia@moqchurch.org for more information. Our OCIA program meets every Sunday starting at 9am.

We also started our Religious Education Program at both St John Vianney and Mary Our Queen on Wednesday September 9. It is still not too late to register your child for the program if you have not been able to do so. Please call our Parish Offices for more details.

Because of the generosity of some wonderful members of our Parishes, I am able to plant some new trees at both St John Vianney and Mary Our Queen campuses. I am hoping to have them planted in the near future.

I will be making a home visit to see my mother beginning tomorrow. I will be back on the 14th of October. If there are any emergencies or items that need addressing, kindly contact Kolleen Hoffman at the Mary Our Queen office.

Blessings,

Fr Marc
