Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Mary Our Queen Human Needs Committee will be hosting their Annual Garage Sale from July 31st to the 2nd of August.  Beginning this Sunday July 26, they will be collecting usable items for donation to the Garage Sale.  Please see our bulletin for more details.  All proceeds from our Garage Sale go to support families in need in our Parish.  Thank you for your generosity.

We are also having a Christmas in July at St John Vianney.  In the narthex there is a Christmas Wishlist tree with ornaments requesting gift cards that will support our Outreach program for the less fortunate.  On each ornament is a prayer that we invite you to pray for the individual or family that you will be supporting.  We thank you for your generosity.

We had initially kept the old boiler as a spare when we upgraded our HVAC for the Church and basement classrooms.  It was meant to serve as backup for the two new ones installed for the Narthex and Social Hall.  After going through the winter season, a decision was made to decommission it given that only one of the newer boilers was used even on the coldest days during the winter season.  The old boiler is more that 30 years old and since there are really no efficacies to it and that we have maintain it even when it is not used, we made the decision to have it removed.

We have more or less remodeled four of our classrooms on the upper floor of our School.  Over the summer, we also had all our classrooms cleaned (and waxed) to prepare for the new school year.  The hope is to remodel all the upper floor classrooms within the next two years. The classroom remodel is made possible thanks to your generosity of the Raise the Paddle at our MARQUEE and from the generosity from our Men’s Club and Knights of Columbus who donated $9,999 and $10,000 respectively (I understand that the Men’s Club keeps tabling my request for the extra $1 at every meeting …….. as always I will keep trying :P)

The new boilers for the school and Kenny Center have been installed and the hope is for the boilers to be started this week for testing.  We are also in the midst of upgrading the controls for the HVAC in the Kenny Center to complete the upgrades for the control system for the campus.

I am still looking to plant a few trees at St John Vianney Parish to replace some of the trees we had to remove over the years.  The cost of having a tree planted is about $600.  I am hoping to plant four trees or a few more this summer.  If you are able to help us defray some of that cost I would appreciate it.

I am also looking to plant about five spruce trees by the east side of our parking lot by the fence line at Mary Our Queen.  We will have the existing bushes taken down and will have the new trees planted by the existing spruce trees.  The cost of having a tree planted is about $600.  I am also looking to plant two or three spruce trees by the Rectory.  If you are able to help us defray some of that cost, I would appreciate it.

As always, we continue to make improvements and updates to our Parish facilities.  Will keep you updated.

Please note that with our summer schedule, our Parish offices are closed on Fridays.  Our office hours are Monday to Thursday from 8am to 4pm. Please note that for the month of July the School office will be closed.

Blessings for the summer, Fr Marc
