My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Our Family of Parishes hosted the Totus Tuus Program last week at St John Vianney Parish.  Totus Tuus (Totally Yours) is a fun and energetic parish-based summer catechetical program, for both grade school age children and junior and senior high school youth.  We had 35 children and 8 youth attend the program this year.

Next week we will have 14 youth from our Parishes attend Steubenville Youth Conference. Steubenville Youth Conference is a high-energy youth conference where thousands of teens are invited to encounter Jesus Christ through dynamic speakers, engaging music, the Sacraments, small group discussions, and fellowship with other teens.  Our youth were involved with fundraisers and bake sales to go for this event.  I would also like to thank the Knights of Columbus of St John Vianney for hosting a Breakfast Fundraiser for our youth a few weeks ago.

We will be evaluating our youth and children’s summer programs in the next few weeks.  The hope is that we can encourage more youth to attend the Steubenville Youth Conference and perhaps have a Vacation Bible School follow-up program.

The new boilers for the school and Kenny Center have been installed in the mechanical room at the Kenny Center and the old boilers and pipes have been removed in the mechanical room by the cafeteria.  There are a few items that still need to be addressed (existing pumps that are leaking that need new seals as well as the control system for the boilers, etc.).  We are also upgrading the controls for the HVAC in the Kenny Center to complete the upgrades for the control system for the campus.

Work is ongoing for the remodeling four classrooms of the upper floor in the main school building at Mary Our Queen.  The new flooring, lighting and ceiling tiles have been installed.  We are currently working on the installation of the new projectors and screens.  We will also be installing a new PA system for our School to improve communication and safety.  This new system will allow both our Parish Office and School to communicate with ease.

I am looking to plant a few trees at St John Vianney Parish to replace some of the trees we had to remove over the years.  The cost of having a tree planted is about $600.  I am hoping to plant four trees this summer.  If you are able to help us defray some of that cost I would appreciate it.

As always, we continue to make improvements and updates to our Parish facilities.  Will keep you updated.

Please note that with our summer schedule, our Parish offices will be closed on Fridays.  Our office hours at the Family of Parishes will be Monday to Thursday from 8am to 4pm and our school office hours will be Monday to Thursday from 8 to 3pm.  Please note that for the month of July the School office will be closed.

Blessings for the summer,

Fr Marc
