Mary Our Queen Catholic School Named 2025 Blue Ribbon School

OMAHA, Neb. — Oct. 6, 2025 — Mary Our Queen Catholic School has been recognized as a 2025 Blue Ribbon School, a prestigious designation awarded by the U.S. Department of Education. The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program is one of the highest honors a school in the United States can receive, recognizing overall academic excellence or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups.

Full details can be found in the Nebraska Department of Education’s release here.

“Being recognized as a Blue Ribbon School is a true honor and a testament to the commitment of our teachers, staff, students, and families,” said Fr. Marc Lim, pastor of Mary Our Queen Catholic Church and School. “Our school community has always embraced a mission rooted in faith and academic excellence, and this recognition affirms the strong partnership between our educators and families in shaping students for success.”

The Blue Ribbon recognition underscores the collective work of faculty and staff in fostering a rigorous academic environment. Mary Our Queen was recognized in the Exemplary High Performing School category, marking it as one of the state’s top schools in overall achievement.

“This honor reflects the dedication of our entire team,” said Principal Maureen Hoy. “Our teachers and staff consistently go above and beyond to ensure that every student feels supported, challenged, and inspired to learn. We are proud to represent Catholic education in Nebraska with this recognition.”

Blue Ribbon Schools are recognized for data-driven instruction, effective teaching methods, professional development, and strong collaboration between educators, families, and communities. The program highlights schools that serve as models of innovation and effectiveness nationwide.

Mary Our Queen Catholic School will join the other honorees in being celebrated by the Nebraska Department of Education later this fall.
