Women’s Ministry
Mary & Martha Women’s Ministry is open to women of the parish of any age. We are dedicated to expressing love of Christ through service to all God’s children. The Society’s primary focus is on three aspects of our humanness; Social, Spiritual and Service. We gather to socialize with other women in the parish, provide support, and help educate all Catholic women in spirituality and in service consistent with the teachings and tradition of the Catholic Church.
As they continued their journey he entered a village where a woman whose name was Martha welcomed him. She had a sister named Mary [who] sat beside the Lord at his feet listening to him speak. Martha, burdened with much serving, came to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me by myself to do the serving? Tell her to help me.” The Lord said to her in reply, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things. There is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her.” ~ Luke 10: 38-42

Saint John Vianney Council #7740 meets on the first Monday of the month unless it is a holiday.
In association with the church-wide organization, the goal of this ministry is to serve church, family, youth, community and council, right here in our parish through acts of charity, devotion and promotion of our Catholic values.
As Catholic men, we are called to do more. The Knights of Columbus can help you answer that call. Your membership connects you with opportunities to make an impact in your community and gives you access to resources to help you grow deeper in faith and stay informed about the issues Catholics care about. You’ll also have exclusive access insurance and financial planning products to help you protect your family.

This ministry is devoted to feeding the hungry and homeless at the Stephen Center facility on 27th & Q Street in Omaha on the first Thursday of every month. The many ways to assist in this service is by providing needed food for our menu; by going to this facility with several other parishioners the months of March through November to prepare and serve this menu to those who reside there; or helping our parish by donating toward the cost of the chicken we purchase and serve at this meal during the above months (The SJV Knights of Columbus prepare and serve this meal the months of December, January and February).
Nurses Ministry
We are parishioners from St. John Vianney who are registered nurses and have been trained to promote health within our parish wholeness and “holiness” of mind, body and spirit, advocating a healthy lifestyle for all ages. We educate parishioners by offering information and health counseling, and act as a resource by providing referrals. We inform and enable parishioners to make appropriate decisions regarding their own health care.
Prayer Line Ministry
If you would like our prayer line ministry to pray for an intention of yours, simply email or call to make the request. Several parishioners are willing to add your intention to their prayers.
