HAITI FUNDRAISER
As a Parish, SJV has worked with the Flower of Hope School in Haiti for several years. Due to unrest and security concerns in Haiti, we have not been able to make Mission Trips back to see our friends. We are still able to wire money to the founders of the school who educate students on the basics and teach trades such as Electrical, Beautician and Tailoring. The Flower of Hope desires to educate young rural Haitians so they can support themselves in a difficult economy.
The SJV Knights of Columbus will host a Fundraiser and Breakfast on Sunday, September 14th. Breakfast will be served and we will collect donations after all the weekend Masses. Any amount donated will be appreciated.
The more money they receive, the more people they can assist with becoming self-sufficient. Some needs they have include:
- 6 new Sewing Machines: $470.00 each
- Beautician Supplies: $390.00
- Electrical Panels to Teach Electricians: $570.00 each
- Books for a Grade level: $180 each grade for 10 grades
- Uniforms for Kids: $30 per child—400 children at school
- Proper Daily Lunch for Kids: $150 weekly
