Eucharistic Ministers

Possessing a clearly defined understanding of the presence of Jesus in the consecrated bread and wine, Eucharistic Ministers share their faith openly with the community through their participation in the Mass by distributing Precious Body and Precious Blood.

Individuals who have been mandated by the Archdiocese of Omaha are invited to become an EMHC. For new EMHCs, the formal instruction and mandation ceremony is held by the diocese. Training is also given from our parish EMHC coordinator. High school students who are juniors or seniors are eligible to become EMHCs. Volunteer EMHCs are also needed to distribute communion to our homebound parishioners.

There is a one night training session in August at several locations, and a one night Mandation at the Catedral in August. There is also a one night training at Saint John Vianney. Dates are available by calling the office at 402-895-0808.
