Eucharistic Ministers

Possessing a clearly defined understanding of the presence of Jesus in the consecrated bread and wine, Eucharistic Ministers share their faith openly with the community through their participation in the Mass by distributing Precious Body and Precious Blood.

Individuals who have been mandated by the Archdiocese of Omaha are invited to become an EMHC. For new EMHCs, the formal instruction and mandation ceremony is held by the diocese. Training is also given from our parish EMHC coordinator. High school students who are juniors or seniors are eligible to become EMHCs. Volunteer EMHCs are also needed to distribute communion to our homebound parishioners.

*Upcoming training sessions for 2016 for new EMHCs have been announced.  Choose one of the following training sessions to attend: August 7th at St. Columbkille, August 9th at St. Leo's, or August 22nd at St. Vincent de Paul. The Mandation ceremony will be on Thursday, September 8th at 7pm at St. Cecilia Cathedral. Call or email the parish office to sign up. Deadline to sign up to attend a training session is July 21st.
